Two arrested from L. Gan for selling drugs, bootleg liquor

The police have arrested two people suspected of selling drugs and bootleg liquor out of a house in L. Gan.

The police raided the house, Village, located in the Thundi district of Gan, on Friday.

According to a spokesperson, the raid was carried out under a court warrant based on an intelligence report that the house was being used to store and sell drugs, as well as make and sell bootleg liquor.

During the raid, the police found 24.42 grams of heroin, and two large jars and a five-liter plastic bottle containing bootleg liquor and well as paraphernalia used to make homemade liquor.

The police arrested two people in connection to the case; a 42-year-old male and a 57-year-old male – both Maldivians.

The case is under investigation by the police.
