Young boy electrocuted in Gan to receive further treatment in Male’

Efforts are underway to transfer a young boy to Malé for further medical treatment after he sustained serious injuries in an electrocution incident in Gan.

The incident took place on Tuesday night amidst preparations for Eid al-Adha festivities. According to reports, the boy was electrocuted while attempting to draw power from a roadside distribution box to a wiring board.

The boy was initially provided emergency medical treatment at L. Gan Regional Hospital following the incident. However, due to the severity of his condition, he was placed on a ventilator before being medically evacuated to Malé on Wednesday for further treatment.

Speaking with Sun, an official from Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital confirmed that arrangements are currently underway to receive the patient. The hospital further stated that a medical team remains on full standby to begin treatment immediately upon the child's arrival.
