Tourist injured after getting struck by boat propeller

A German diver has been reported injured after getting hit by a boat propeller this Saturday morning.

Maldives Police Service reports the German, a guest at Embudu Finolhu, was struck by the propeller of a boat operated by Paradise Island Resort at the Manta Point off the coast of the resort at approximately 10:35 am.

The tourism sustained extensive injuries to his leg, reports Maldives Police Service.

He was initially taken to Paradise Island Resort and was transported to Tree Top Hospital in Hulhumale’ with the assistance of the resort’s management.

The case is under investigation by Maldives Police Service.

The condition of the German tourist is unclear at this point.
