Hawks CEO Hassan Rifau’s driving licence has been suspended after his Lamborghini went out of control on the Sinamale' Bridge Highway and crashed into the roadside solar panel structures.

Police said the accident was reported at 08:42 am on Friday. The vehicle overturned after hitting the solar panel poles installed along the highway.

According to police, Rifau, of Munich, B. Kamadhoo, was driving the car, and a 13-year-old boy was also inside the vehicle at the time of the crash. Both were taken to Tree Top Hospital and later released after treatment for minor injuries.

Police said the Lamborghini was damaged beyond repair, and its parts were handed over to the owner after investigators collected all required information for the case. Rifau’s driving licence has been withheld pending further investigation.

Police confirmed that the vehicle was travelling at high speed when it lost control, and the crash caused significant damage to the solar panel structures installed as part of the Sinamale' Bridge Highway lighting system. Authorities have also highlighted public safety concerns due to the presence of a minor in the vehicle and have urged drivers to adhere strictly to speed limits on the bridge.
