Two elderly people injured in bus-motorcycle collision near Dharubaaruge

Two elderly people were injured in a bus-motorcycle collision near Dharubaaruge on Boduthakurufaanu Magu, Male' City, on Wednesday.

Police said the accident occurred at around 5:10 pm, when a bus and a motorcycle collided near Dharubaaruge.

The driver, a 69-year-old man, and a 72-year-old woman seated behind him were injured in the accident, according to police.

However, police said their injuries were not serious.

Police are investigating the incident.

Major accidents and unexpected deaths have shocked the nation this year. Another elderly man was critically injured in an accident in Hulhumale' on Monday. The 62-year-old is currently on a ventilator in the ICU of Tree Top Hospital.

In addition, two children died in two horrifying incidents within the span of a week in Hulhumale', a nine-year-old girl who died in a road accident, and a two-year-old girl who fell to her death from the twelfth floor of a building.
