An expatriate sustained injuries on Tuesday, after he was attacked with a sharp-edged weapon in the Maldivian capital.
The assault, which took place in the Kurikeela Magu of Male’ City, was reported to police at around 11:58 pm on Tuesday.
A police spokesperson said the incident resulted in injuries to a Nepalese man, who is being treated at the Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).
The hospital reports that his injuries aren’t serious, said the spokesperson.
The police did not specify the exact type of weapon used in the assault nor details regarding the victim’s injuries.
The case is under investigation by the police. However, they have yet to make an arrest.
