Two Maldivians stabbed in Male' City; foreign suspect arrested

A foreign man has been arrested for stabbing two local men on Shabnam Magu in Male' city.

Police said they received a report at 9:01 pm that two people had been attacked with a sharp object on Shabnam Magu. The victims, aged 48 and 33, were taken to hospital for treatment.

One of the injured is being treated at Senahiya Hospital, while the other is receiving care at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH). Police said details of their injuries are not yet known.

A foreign man has been arrested on suspicion of involvement in the fight. Police have not released further information about the suspect or the cause of the altercation.

The case is under investigation.
