39-year-old man injured in Hulhudhoo fight linked to alleged drug dealings; one suspect arrested

A man has been stabbed in Addu.

In a message shared with the media, police said a case involving serious injuries was reported at 13:50 p.m. by the S. Hulhudhoo Health Centre.

According to police, initial findings indicate the man was injured during a fight related to alleged drug dealings.

The victim is a 39‑year‑old Maldivian man, who is now receiving treatment at the Equatorial Hospital in Addu.

Police said a 44‑year‑old man has been arrested in connection with the incident. The case remains under investigation.

Such violent incidents have been reported in the area from time to time. A Bangladeshi man was severely stabbed in the city on the night of the 17th of this month.
