2 more arrested in relation to Maamendhoo killing

Two more individuals have been arrested from G. A. Maamendhoo in relation to gang violence on Monday night that saw the death of a minor. 

Police confirmed that a 25-year old and an 18-year old were arrested in relation to the violence under a court order. Three people were initially arrested. A total of five have now been arrested in the case. 

No further details were disclosed by the police who are investigating the killing. The Serious and Organized Crime United of Police department is leading the investigation. 

The violence on Monday night saw a 17-year old killed and two more wounded. The deceased has been named as Ahmed Udhayyu (17) from Lily Of The Valley. His brother Firushaan Zahir (21) was also wounded in the attack. A post-mortem is to be conducted on the body of the deceased.
