Damages have been reported to a taxi car after it swerved off the road and into the foliage at the side of the road in an accident in Hulhumale’ this Saturday morning.
Maldives Police Service reports that the taxi was on the Reethigas Magu when the driver lost control of the vehicle, resulting in the crash.
The agency says that the driver did not sustain any injuries, but that the crash resulted in damages to the front bumper of the vehicle.
There were no passengers on board the taxi.
Maldives Police Service has not disclosed why the driver lost control of the vehicle.
Roadside accidents have been on the rise in Hulhumale’ this May. Two of the most prominent cases involve MTCC buses – one of which ran over a tourist on May 6, and one of which crashed into a taxi on May 9. Both cases involved the drivers falling asleep behind the wheels.
