Young girl injured in Hulhumale’ accident dies

The young girl who was critically injured in an accident near Vinares 7 in Hulhumale' Phase 2 last Saturday night has passed away.

Sun has learned that the girl passed away early this morning. The deceased has been identified as nine-year-old Zeeva Sinan Ahmed of M. Lemontree 1, Male'. She was the passenger on the motorcycle involved in the accident. Due to the critical nature of her injuries, she had been receiving treatment on ventilator in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of IGMH.

Zeeva's funeral prayer was held at the Hulhumale' Cemetery following the Dhuhr prayer today.

Nine-year-old Zeeva Sinan Ahmed of M. Lemontree 1, Male', who died from critical injuries sustained in an accident.

According to the Police, the accident took place at approximately 21:04pm on Saturday night near Vinares-7 on Hithigas Magu in Hulhumale' Phase 2.

Police stated that, based on CCTV footage reviewed thus far, the accident occurred when a motorcycle traveling along Hithigas Magu crashed into a pedestrian who was walking along the roadside to enter a car parked near Vinares 7.

The other individual injured in the accident is an 18-year-old Maldivian woman who was driving the motorcycle.
