Bridge accident: Deceased identified as a 50-year-old Indian

Maldives Police Service has identified the victim of the fatal accident last night near the Sinamalé Bridge traffic lights as a 50-year-old foreign national.

The accident was reported to authorities at approximately 22:12pm.

According to the Police, the accident took place near the airport traffic lights on the Hulhumale’ to Male’ lane.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the accident occurred when the motorcycle driven by the deceased skidded, and was run over by a pickup in the vicinity. The deceased sustained fatal injuries in the collision.

The Police identified the deceased as a 50-year-old Indian man.

Following the incident, police officers were deployed to the scene. The case is under further investigation by the Police.
