Land worth MVR 428M purchased from diplomatic enclave in Hulhumale'

MVR 428.5 million has been spent on land purchases in the diplomatic enclave zone of Hulhumale’ phase 2 to relocate foreign embassies and chanceries in the Maldives. 

A ruling by the Hulhumale’ division of the Civil Court last Thursday read that the government had purchased MVR 418.5 million of land around 199,000 feet. The land was purchased from the Housing Development Corporation (HDC).

Some countries have already been issued space in the diplomatic enclave in Hulhumale’ phase 2. They include India, China, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and even the United Arab Emirates.
