State contests Shiyam payout

The Attorney General’s Office has decided to appeal the High Court’s order requiring the state to pay 12 years’ worth of salary and allowances to Inspector of Police Ahmed Shiyam, who was dismissed from service in 2014. Shiyam, widely known from his time in the police media unit, was serving as Commander of the North Police Division when he was terminated
