Maldivian Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid has paid a courtesy call on the Moroccan Prime Minister Dr. Saad Eddine El-Othmani as part of his ongoing official visit to the country.
Shahid called on El-Othmani at the Prime Minister’s Office in Rabat on Friday.
He started off the call by conveying greetings and good wishes to El-Othmani and the Moroccan people on behalf of Maldivian President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, before expressing confidence in his current visit will serve to enhance the close cooperation between the two countries.
Shahid and El-Othmani focused their discussions on the importance of people to people contact between the two countries, as well as cooperation in the fields of trade, economy, heritage, counter-terrorism, de-radicalization, higher education and environment.
Shahid also met with his Moroccan counterpart, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita on Friday.
He also signed four agreements as part of his ongoing visit to Morocco:
Shahid is accompanied in his visit by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Khaleel; Ambassador of Maldives to UAE, Dr. Hussain Niyaaz; Additional Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Shiaan; and Assistant Director of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Moomina Ibrahim.
