Dr Almas Adnan Ismail, the first Maldivian subspecialist in glaucoma, has joined EyeCare Hospital as a Consultant Ophthalmologist.
Dr Almas completed her Glaucoma Fellowship at Vision Eye Hospital in Dhaka, Bangladesh, where she received advanced training in Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS) and phacoemulsification. She has passed both Part A and Part B of the International Council of Ophthalmology (ICO) examinations and continues to actively participate in international ophthalmology conferences.
She will consult at EyeCare Hospital’s Hulhumale' Annex.
Glaucoma is one of the leading causes of irreversible blindness worldwide. Often called the “silent thief of sight,” the disease can progress without noticeable symptoms, with many patients unaware of vision loss until significant and permanent damage has already occurred. Early diagnosis and timely treatment are therefore essential.
Patients wishing to consult Dr Almas can book appointments through the EyeCare Hospital website or via WhatsApp or Viber at 7201026.
