Severe damage reported after speedboat-boat collision near Male'; three hospitalized

Three people were injured in a collision between a speedboat and a boat on Sunday night.

The accident occurred at 9:10 pm near the official jetty in Male' city, according to Marine Police. Officers are currently on the scene.

Marine Police said three people were injured in the accident and have been taken to IGMH for treatment.

Videos and photos circulating from the scene show the speedboat involved, LGN 101, sustained severe damage, with seats destroyed and one side of the vessel badly crushed.

There have been similar dangerous marine accidents in the past, causing serious injuries and extensive damage.
