MACL employees to receive OT in Ramadan only if it exceeds 48 hours

Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has limited overtime pay during Ramadan, deciding that employees will only be paid for overtime if it exceeds 48 hours.

MACL shared the changes in policy in a circular sent to employees earlier this week.

According to the circular, the official working hours for administrative employees during Ramadan and the first seven days of Shawwal is 09:00 am to 01:30 pm, while the work hours of employees who work shifts left up to respective departments and sections to decide.

The circular also states that employees will not be paid for overtime if the work carried outside official working hours does not exceed 48 hours per week.

The official government working hours during Ramadan is 09:00 am to 01:00 pm. Government offices will also be closed during the last 10 days of the holy month.
