The Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB) is scheduled to install ATMs in 19 inhabited islands next year.

MIB’s CEO Mufaddal Idris Khumri and Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the implementation of the project in an event held at the President’s Office on Thursday afternoon.

The event was attended by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.

Addressing the event, Khumri said that the MoU covers the establishment of total 23 ATMs in 19 islands.

The MIB currently has 39 ATMs in 18 islands across 12 atolls. The additional ATMs that will be installed in the 19 additional islands will mean that the bank will have 62 ATMs in 37 inhabited islands by the end of next year.

According to Khumri, this will include six USD ATMs.
