One arrested in robbery at Hithadhoo store

The police have made one arrest in connection to an armed robbery at a convenience store in Addu City’s Hithadhoo district.

The incident took place on Monday.

The police said that a 40-year-old Maldivian man was arrested in connection to the case on Tuesday.

CCTV footage from the store shows that two people were involved in the robbery. They appear to wait and watch to see if the coast is clear before threatening the shopkeeper with a small knife and a slab of wood.

The shopkeeper later takes hold of the slab of wood and is seen chasing after the robbers.

The police did not what was stolen in the robbery.

The case is under investigation by the police.
