They will relay their experiences through articles and multimedia content to potential travelers in India and beyond. The combined reach of the content is estimated to go beyond 4,952,250+ readers.

According to MMPRC, the familiarization trip is part of the corporation’s marketing strategy for India, which focuses on sharing key destination information via social media platforms and online media that is most commonly used in the India market.

The strategy aims to promote affordable luxury accommodation options to the Indian consumers and establish Maldives as a top-of-the-mind destination in the market.

The trip also aims to promote the variety of accommodation options available in the Sunny Side of Life.

India was the top source market for tourist arrivals to the Maldives last year with 241,369 visitors – making for 14.4 percent of the total market share.

MMPRC has been holding several promotional initiatives targeting the India market to maintain destination momentum. This includes digital and social media campaigns, participation in major fairs and exhibitions, media interviews, ad campaigns, TV and online programs, outdoor advertising campaigns, and familiarization trips.
