Ibrahim Shiuree resigned as the Managing Director of Visit Maldives on Monday.
Shiuree was appointed MD on June 13, 2024, when the corporation, formerly known as MMPRC, was renamed Visit Maldives.
The reason for his resignation remains unclear. However, he met with employees on Monday before stepping down.
He is the second person appointed to the post by the current government. The first was Fatimath Thaufeeg (Kudee).
Shiuree, a recipient of both the National Award and the Youth Award, holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration in Public Relations and Communication from Limkokwing University, Malaysia.
