3 injured in violence in 2 districts of Addu City

Three people have been injured in violence in two districts of Addu City on Sunday night.

A police spokesperson said the police received report of a person attacked with a sharp-edged weapon in Hithadhoo district at approximately 11:30 pm on Sunday.

A second attack took place in Feydhoo district at approximately 11:45 pm on Sunday, in which two people were injured using sharp-edged weapons.

All three are being treated at the Addu Equatorial Hospital.

Both cases are under investigation by the police.

The attacks come after seven people were injured in gang violence outside a children’s park on Thursday.

The police have arrested five suspects in connection to the case. They were identified as an 18-year-old male, a 20-year-old male, two 21-year-old males, and a 32-year-old male.
