Addu City’s Gan records highest rainfall in past 24 hours

The Maldives Meteorological Service (Met Office) has reported widespread rainfall across various parts of the Maldives over the past 24 hours, with the highest level of precipitation recorded in Addu City’s Gan.

According to statistical data released by the Met Office, Gan recorded 60.6mm of rainfall between 08:00am on Monday and 08:00am on Tuesday. The second-highest rainfall was also recorded in Addu City, as Hithadhoo saw 35.0mm of rain. Fuvahmulah City recorded the third-highest amount, with 27.0mm of rain.

Meanwhile, other islands in the southern regions also recorded varying amounts of rainfall, including 9.7mm in GDh. Kaadedhdhoo, 6.9mm in Thinadhoo City, 2.2mm in GA. Gemanafushi, and 1.6 mm in GDh. Faresmaathoda.

In the central and northern regions, ADh. Maamigili recorded 7.0 mm of rainfall, while the capital, Malé, received 5.7 mm. Other recorded figures included 4.4 mm in F. Bilehdhoo, 3.9 mm each in AA. Thoddoo and HDh. Hanimaadhoo, 3.3 mm in K. Gaafaru, 2.8 mm in F. Nilandhoo, 2.2 mm in Hulhulé, 2.1 mm in Hulhumalé, and 1.5 mm in AA. Himandhoo.

Data released by the Met Office indicates that the southern atolls experienced the most significant rainfall from the recent weather activity over the past 24 hours.
