Department of National Registration closed due to virus case

The Department of National Registration (DNR) has been temporarily closed after an employee tested positive for COVID-19. 

The Director of the Department Fareedha Yoosuf, speaking with Sun said that the closure was on the advice of the HPA.

“Employees have been sent home. Contact tracing is underway.” Said Fareedha. 

Until further instructions by the health authorities, services are to be suspended. HPA is also set to provide guidelines of operations. The DNR was closed at a time when a number of people had attended to obtain services.

The number of COVID-19 cases in the Maldives is on the rise significantly.
