A truck crashed into the outer wall of the President’s Office in a traffic accident on Tuesday.
According to the police, the accident was reported to the agency at 11:07 am this Tuesday.
The truck had driven into the Boduthakurufaanu Magu, where the President’s Office is located, from Shaheed Abdulla Hingun.
Initial findings indicate the accident had been the result of the steering wheels getting stuck, said the police.
The accident left scratches on the truck and dislodged a block of concrete from the wall.
“The truck driver involved in the accident is a 30-year-old Maldivian male. While he has a driver’s license, he does not have the [permit to operate a vehicle of] that category,” said the police.
The accident is under further investigation by the police.
