Tree Top Hospital opens a flu clinic

Tree Top Hospital, located in suburban Hulhumale’, has opened a flu clinic in response to an uptick in flu cases in Maldives.

Opened on Tuesday, the flu clinic a specially designated safe space away from the hospital’s in-patient clinics and out-patient clinics.

Tree Top Hospital has also implemented additional precautionary measures to ensure the protection of its staff and patients in response to the emergence of cases of the COVID-19 pandemic in Maldives. The measures include directing patients confirmed for outpatient consultations who exhibit flu symptoms to the Emergency Room, where they will be provided with free consultation.

All patients are now required to complete a written questionnaire regarding their recent travel history, and inpatient visitors have been limited to one relative or caretaker at a time from 11:00 -12:00 and from 18:00 to 19:00.

Visitors under the age of 14 years are no longer allowed.

13 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Maldives, all of whom are foreign nationals who were either working or vacationing in resorts or safaris. Of the 13 people, five were from Kuredu Island Resort, two from Sandies Bathala, two from Kuramathi Island Resort, two from Anantara Dhigu, and two from Island Safari-1.
