Tree Top Hospital has successfully concluded its second multi-specialty health camp of 2026 in L. Gan reinforcing its commitment to expanding access to specialist healthcare services across the Maldives.
The health camp, held last weekend in collaboration with Gan Regional Hospital, Gan Council, and the Gan Women’s Development Committee, received strong participation from residents of Gan and neighbouring islands. During the two-day initiative, a total of 492 specialist consultations were provided, allowing community members to access expert medical services without travelling to Malé.
The programme brought together specialists in Cardiology, Endocrinology, Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Pulmonology, and Urology, who delivered consultations, health screenings, and health education services.
In addition to clinical services, Tree Top Hospital conducted a health awareness session for students in Gan to promote healthy lifestyle choices from an early age. A separate professional development programme was also organised for nurses at Gamu Regional Hospital, aimed at enhancing knowledge sharing and strengthening healthcare capacity within the atoll.
Tree Top Hospital expressed its appreciation to Gamu Regional Hospital, the Gan Council, the Gan Women’s Development Committee, local authorities, partner organisations, volunteers, and community members whose support contributed to the success of the initiative.
The health camp marked the 18th outreach multi-specialty health camp organised by Tree Top Hospital, reflecting its continued efforts to bring specialist healthcare services closer to communities nationwide. Similar programmes have previously been conducted in Meemu, Dhaalu, Thaa, Gaafu Alifu, Gaafu Dhaalu, Haa Alifu, Laamu, and Shaviyani atolls.
Tree Top Hospital affirmed its commitment to improving access to quality healthcare, strengthening local healthcare capacity, and fostering healthier communities across the Maldives through such initiatives.
