Photo shows a passenger ferry travelling in bad weather. Met office issued yellow weather alerts for the southernmost atolls on November 29, 2019.
The yellow weather alert issued to the Southern atolls of the country by Maldives Meteorological Service (Met Office) has been extended.
The alert was issued for the southernmost three atolls from G.A atoll to Addu city. The alert from 11:00 to 15:00 has now been extended to 17:30.
The atolls of Lh. and H.A has also been issued a white alert from 14:30 to 18:30.
Met Office warned that the country was in the middle of the transitional period between the two monsoons and advised to stay alert regarding bad weather expected in the upcoming week.
