Elderly woman who fell down airshaft passes away

The 76-year-old woman who fell down the airshaft from her fourth floor apartment in Maafannu district of Male’ City has passed away from her injuries.

The elderly woman fell down the airshaft at approximately 1:30 am this Thursday.

Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) reports she passed away from her injuries at 1:30 pm.

She was taken into the hospital with multiple fractures; including to her hips and legs.

The cause of the fall is under investigation by Maldives Police Service.
