The junction where Chaandhanee Magu meets Boduthakurufaanu Magu has been temporarily converted into a two‑way street.

The change comes as the closure of Boduthakurufaanu Magu, from Henveiru Ferry Terminal to the Official Jetty, has previously caused congestion and inconvenience for the public during ongoing development works.

A media officer from Male' City Council told Sun that the adjustment was made at the request of the Traffic Police to ease traffic flow and reduce bottlenecks in the area.

With the new arrangement, vehicles can now exit both Orchid Magu and Chaandhanee Magu onto Boduthakurufaanu Magu.

The temporary change will remain in place until the completion of the outer‑ring road and the reopening of the currently closed section.

Work to modernise the stretch of road from Henveiru Ferry Terminal to the Official Jetty began on March 23 last year. MTCC, the contractor for the project, has stated that the road will be reopened before July 26.
