Former Dhiraagu chairman Rilwan Shareef passes away

Former Chairman of Dhiraagu, Rilwan Shareef, passed away on Monday.

Rilwan died while undergoing treatment at IGMH. The reason for his admission has not been disclosed.

He was appointed Chairman of Dhiraagu in 2014, during a period of significant restructuring within the company. However, he was dismissed from the post in February the following year.

Rilwan held a Master’s Degree in Business from RMIT University in Australia and served as the Managing Director of Villa Air for many years, where he played a key role in the development of the airline’s operations and expansion.

His passing marks the loss of a long‑serving figure in the country’s telecommunications and aviation sectors.
