Veteran civil servant Ahmed Manik, who served the state for 46 years, passes away at 88

Ahmed Manik (Jaadhoo Ahmed Manik), who served the Maldivian state for more than 46 years, passed away on Sunday.

He died at the age of 88.

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has extended condolences to the family, praying for Allah to grant Ahmed Manik eternal blessings of Paradise.

Ahmed Manik served the state for over 46 years. From February 1, 1957 to May 1, 2008, he worked in various capacities, including as a peon, guard, curator, and later as an officer in the military.

He was awarded the State Service Award in 2023 in recognition of his long and dedicated service.

His funeral will be held after Isha prayers on Sunday night at the Aasaharaa Miskiy in Male' City.
