A man has been arrested for purchasing stolen expensive items such as speakers and power tools at unusually low prices.
Police said the arrest was made on Wednesday as part of an Addu City Police operation targeting individuals who buy stolen goods cheaply. Abdulla Umar, a 58-year-old man, was taken into custody in connection with the case.
According to police, 65 items believed to have been bought at low prices were recovered from the suspect’s residence. The stolen goods were taken from various houses across Addu City.
The recovered items include power tools, cartridges, speakers, lights and other equipment. Police said some of the items have already been returned to their rightful owners.
The case is under investigation.
Police have urged the public not to buy suspiciously cheap items and to report any cases involving stolen goods.
