Police recover MVR 95K out of MVR 150K stolen from motorcycle

The police announced on Sunday that they have successfully recovered MVR 95,000 out of MVR 150,000 in cash stolen from the U-box of a motorcycle parked near the Male’ swimming track.

The case was reported to the police on the night of September 23.

The police said they went through CCTV footage from the area to identify the suspect, who confessed when interrogated by investigators.

The police said that the suspect handed over MVR 55,000 he deposited to his bank account to the police, and transferred another MVR 40,000 to the bank account of the victim.

The police said that the suspect was found to have spent the remaining MVR 55,000, and that they are working on recovering the money.

The suspect is not under arrest, said the police.

The case is under further investigation by the police.
