Senior officials from the Maldives and Saudi Arabia held high-level discussions on Monday regarding Saudi assistance to train Maldivian police officers and enhance the technical capabilities of the Maldives Police Service.
The discussions took place during a meeting between Commissioner of Police Ahmed Mohamed and the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to the Maldives, Yahya Hassan Alqahtani.

Held at the Maldives Police Service headquarters in the Shaheed Hussain Adam Building, the meeting focused on strengthening the longstanding relationship between the Maldives Police Service and Saudi Arabia while expanding bilateral cooperation. Both sides also held extensive discussions on exploring new training opportunities for Maldivian police officers.
A key focus of the meeting was potential collaboration with Saudi Arabia's King Fahd Security College. Discussions also centred on securing specialized training programs to strengthen efforts against organized crime and narcotics. In addition, the Commissioner and the Ambassador explored opportunities for specialized training aimed at enhancing investigative capabilities and improving road safety and security.
The two officials also exchanged views on further strengthening bilateral ties and identifying new areas of cooperation for future collaboration.
