The Housing Ministry has extended applications window for both land and flats under public housing schemes, despite stating earlier that it will not be extending the deadline.
The previous deadline was May 31. And during a press briefing in April, Housing Minster Dr. Abdulla Muthalib had stated that the government will not be extending the deadline.
But in a statement on Saturday, the Housing Ministry announced that the applications deadline for housing schemes under the government’s ‘Boahiyaavahikan Enmenah’ policy had been extended to 11:59 pm June 15.
The Housing Ministry said it made the decision following complaints of difficulties in obtaining relevant documents needed for applications due to the closure of government offices for the long Eid al-Adha holidays.
The ministry opened applications for the ‘Aailee Boahiyaavahikan’ housing program – the first scheme under its ‘Boahiyaavahikan Enmenah’, in January, offering 15,000 land plots and 7,900 flats from the greater Male’ area.
