Power restored after outage hits parts of Maafannu

Power has been restored to parts of Maafannu district of Male’ City that was affected by an outage on Tuesday morning.

State Electric Company (STELCO) announced the power outage in Maafannu at 11:40 am.

“Electricity services are disrupted some parts of Maafannu. We are working on identifying the cause of the service disruption, and resolving it as quickly as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience,” wrote STELCO on its official X account.

The outage lasted around 15 minutes.

At 11:55 am, STELCO announced that power had been restored to all affected areas.

The company did not provide a reason for the outage.

The power outage came as Maldives experiences its seasonally warmest period.
