MIB’s new calendar highlights Maldivian dishes with QR‑linked recipe videos

“Flavors of Our Islands” — the 2026 MIB calendar celebrates 15 years of excellence with a culinary journey across the Maldives, featuring traditional recipes and island stories.

This year’s Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB) calendar takes a unique turn, celebrating the heritage of Maldivian cuisine through a collection of traditional dishes featured month by month.

Each month highlights a different Maldivian meal, including:

  • Utheemu Kanamadhu Roshi / Metaa

  • Dhuvaafaru Majaa

  • Addu Bendi

  • Velidhoo Muranga Baiy

  • Landhoo Kulhavah

  • Laamu Golha Riha

  • Eydhafushi Baiypen

  • Dhihdhoo Hithi & Baiy

  • Dhiggaru Rihaakuru

  • Fuvahmulah Kahtelhi

  • Kulhudhufushi Haalu Folhi

  • Hinnavaru Athujjehi

Every page of the calendar includes a QR code that links to a video on MIB’s YouTube channel. The videos showcase each dish, explaining its unique characteristics and demonstrating how it is prepared. The stories and recipes are narrated by island communities themselves, adding authenticity and cultural depth.

MIB says the calendar is designed to celebrate the richness of Maldivian flavors and revive the history behind these traditional dishes.
