The Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB) has announced its services will be operational on Wednesday, despite the government announcing it a public holiday.

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu declared on Tuesday evening that the following day has been made a public holiday owing to flood damages in several islands due to heavy rainfall.

Ahsan Jameel, the media manager of MIB, confirmed the bank’s services would not be interrupted on Wednesday.

The bank has been taking steps to expand its services and customer base, which includes expansion of MIB’s infrastructure.

The Maldives banking network now extends to 20 atolls with 38 branches and 81 self-service banking centers, 138 ATMs, and over 200 cash agents, along with the latest digital banking suite.
