A delegation of senior officials from the Communist Party of China (CPC) met with senior officials of the ruling People’s National Congress (PNC) to discuss strengthening ties between the two parties.
The meeting focused on the outcomes of the 4th Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and the further enhancement of state-to-state and party-to-party relations.
The Chinese delegation was led by Kang Shuai, Deputy Director General of the Information Research Center at the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), and Chinese Ambassador to the Maldives Kong Xinhua.
The Congress Party was represented by its vice-presidents Adam Shareef Umar, Mohamed Nimal, and senior parliamentary group leader Ibrahim Shujau.

PNC described the meeting as highly productive and said such engagements would help expand cooperation between the two parties.
The CPC delegation also visited the Parliament on Thursday and met with members of the People’s Majlis.
