Maldivian judges have left for a training program in neighboring India.

The Supreme Court said the program will be held from December 8 to 12 this month.

A special send-off ceremony was held on Thursday for the participating judges. The ceremony was attended by Indian High Commissioner Balasubramanian, Chief Justice Abdul Ghani Mohamed, and Judicial Service Commission (JSC) Chairman Husnee Mubarak.

This is the seventh time the program is being run for Maldivian judges.

The National Judicial Academy of India (NJA) and the JSC signed a memorandum of understanding on February 11, 2020.

The memorandum of understanding provides judges with an opportunity to enhance their professional training and experience.
