The Parliament refused to hear an emergency motion submitted by the main opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) urging the government to address the housing needs of residents of B. Dhonfanu on Monday, as Speaker Abdul Raheem Abdulla said the extraordinary sitting was being held to conduct a specific work. The Parliament, which is in recess, reconvened for an extraordinary sitting on
