B. Kendhoo Council president Ibrahim Abdul Rahman's motorcycle was dumped at sea on April 15, 2026.
The motorcycle of Ibrahim Abdul Rahman, the president of B. Kendhoo Council, was dumped at sea earlier this week, in what he described as a “politically-motivated” incident.
Ibrahim told Sun the incident took place on Wednesday night.
He said he has filed a police complaint over the issue, but has received no cooperation beyond the response that they were investigating the case.
Ibrahim, a politician from the main opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), believes this to be a politically-motivated attack against him by a group of individuals.
He believes the perpetrators to be members of the ruling People’s National Congress (PNC).
The Yamaha Fino motorcycle was dumped in the waters towards the end of the island’s lagoon. Ibrahim said that he retrieved the motorcycle from underwater on Thursday.
The police were not immediately available for comment regarding the case.
