NSPA spends MVR 8.6M in Sept on aid to patients at private healthcare facilities

The National Social Protection Agency (NSPA) provided MVR 8.6 million in aid in September for patients hospitalized at private healthcare facilities in the country, according to data released by the agency.

The statistics for September, shared by NSPA on Saturday, shows the agency provided over MVR 8.9 million in aid for 479 patients who were hospitalized at two private hospitals – the ADK Hospital in Male’ City and the Tree Top Hospital in Hulhumale’.

This includes MVR 5 million on 309 cases at Tree Top, and MVR 3.6 million on 170 cases at ADK.

The MVR 5 million spent on patients at Tree Top includes MVR 1.31 million on 25 pediatric cases, MVR 902,611 on 50 orthopedic cases, and MVR 600,536 on 66 cases linked to child birth.

Meanwhile, the biggest spending on patients at ADK includes MVR 1.08 million on 16 cardiovascular cases, MVR 703,829 on 11 neurological cases, and MVR 475,934 on orthopedics cases.

NSPA had also spent MVR 8.6 million on disbursing aid to patients hospitalized at private healthcare facilities back in August, which included MVR 4.8 million on patients admitted at Tree Top, and MVR 3.8 million on patients admitted at ADK.

In addition to providing aid for medical care, the state welfare agency also provides financial assistance to persons with disabilities and single parents.
