Young man injured in stabbing in Addu

A young man was taken to the hospital on early Wednesday, after he was attacked with a sharp-edged weapon in the southern city of Addu.

The incident took place in the Hithadhoo district of Addu, and was reported to the police at around 01:17 am Wednesday. It resulted in injuries to a 34-year-old Maldivian male.

According to police, he sustained two stab wounds in the incident, and was taken to the Addu Equatorial Hospital (AEH).

The police did not comment on his condition, and nor have they confirmed if they have made any arrests in the case.

The case is under investigation, said the police.
