Commissioner of Police Ismail Naveen on Sunday directed the police, urging them to intensify efforts in maintaining security and safety within the capital city of Malé.
In a post on Commissioner Naveen’s X handle, he disclosed that he had convened a meeting with the heads of departments operating under the Malé Police to address the most pressing issues confronting the city.
During the meeting, Naveen emphasized the importance of collaborative work among police units in operations conducted within the Malé area. He further called for a reinforcement of police services to ensure robust security.
In addition to CP Naveen, Deputy Commissioner of Police Farhad Fikry and numerous police officers were in attendance at the meeting.
Police statistics indicate that theft and accidents constitute the most frequently reported cases so far this year. A total of 2,213 cases of theft and 1,987 cases of accidents have been recorded.
These figures include 1,479 cases of theft and 1,431 cases of accidents within the main Malé area.
Furthermore, the Hulhumale’ Police have reported 365 cases of theft and 508 cases of accidents.
