Maldives Customs Service has seized a package containing drugs worth MVR 2.5 million smuggled into Maldives through a courier service.
In a statement on Monday, Customs said the drugs were discovered during inspection of a suspicious package that was transported into the Maldives via a courier service on April 27.
The drugs in the package weigh 1,020 grams, and tested positive for cocaine.
The street value of the drugs is estimated to be around MVR 2.5 million.
The drugs have been handed over to the police for a criminal investigation.
