Ibrahim Nasreen (Nattu) has been appointed as the managing director of Public Service Media (PSM).

He replaces Mohamed Saeed, who stepped down as the head of the state broadcaster last week.

Prior to his new appointment, Nasreen served as the director of sales and marketing at the PSM.

Nasreen holds a Master of Science (MSc) degree in service innovation from the College of Innovation at Thammasat University (CITU) and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Limkokwing.

In addition to his job at PSM, Nasreen also works as a part-time lecturer at Maps College and Cyryx College. He is also a board member at Maldives Ocean Plastic Alliance (MOPA).

Nasreen, who has worked at the PSM for around nine years, is the third official to be appointed to head the company within the span of a little over a year.

His predecessor, Mohamed Saeed, tendered his resignation on December 18 after a short five-month tenure without specifying a reason.

Saeed’s predecessor, Zeena Zahir’s tenure had also been short-lived. Appointed as the PSM’s managing director in November last year, Zeena resigned on August 23.

She did not specify a reason either.
