MAHRP elect new ExCo members at sixth AGM

Maldives Association of HR Professionals (MAHRP) has elected new members for its Executive Committee (ExCo) at the sixth Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Association held on Saturday.

MAHRP’s ExCo operates on a two-year term, focusing on advancing human capital excellence across the Maldives.

The election of the new ExCo was a key highlight of the AGM and was conducted under the supervision of an internal committee led by HR enthusiast Aishath Thashkeel and Happiness Lead and Coach Mohamed Shihab.

The new ExCo was elected for the term spanning from November 2024 to October 2026. They are:

  • Ahmed Ibrahim – President
  • Hussain Afeef – Vice President of Growth
  • Aishath Niha – Vice President of Membership
  • Ali Adam – General Secretary
  • Aminath Shaznie – Secretary
  • Ibrahim Shareef – Treasurer
  • Fazla Ahmed –Member
  • Fathimath Rasha –Member
  • Fahdhulla Yaameen –Member
  • Fathimath Unaifath Ahmed – Member
  • Shehan Rajasinghe – Member

The sixth AGM of MAHRP commenced with an opening address from the Association’s President Ahmed Ibrahim who underscored the importance of aligning MAHRP’s activities with its mission and vision to elevate professional standards and leadership across organizations in the Maldives. He also underscored MAHRP’s role as a driving force in developing people leaders and fostering organizational growth for national impact.

Vice President for Membership and Growth Hussain Afeef also provided an overview of MAHRP’s recent initiatives and outlined strategic priorities for the upcoming term. Notable projects in this regard include the introduction of the MAHRP Competency Framework for HR Standards, national HR surveys, and research on HR capabilities.

The AGM also featured presented of the 2023/2024 Annual Report and Financial Report.

The Association’s President delivered the closing remarks as well, in which he reaffirmed MAHRP’s commitment to driving meaningful conversations and actionable solutions to address the nation’s most pressing HR challenges. He also called for collective support from collaborators and stakeholders to position the Maldives as a benchmark for workplace excellence and human capital development.

MAHRP’s Advisory and Executive Committees expressed gratitude to all partners and supporters for their invaluable contributions to the Association’s mission, while expressing commitment to continue efforts to elevate the HR profession and create lasting value for the Maldives and beyond.
